Our History

The Livingston County Consortium on Aging was established as a collaborative group for the county’s senior center directors in the mid-1980’s. As time passed additional agencies were invited:
  • Livingston County Catholic Charities which helped fund and staff centers.
  • Oakland Livingston Human Services Agency, which coordinated the congregate lunch programs.
  • Private vendors and senior residences added to the membership, which currently stands at over 30 active members.
The Consortium’s original purpose was to share resources. It has since grown to be an active network of public and private agencies and individuals committed to networking, advocacy and direct outreach activities.

We are in our second decade of hosting an annual summer Senior Power Day and have added a spring Caregiver Fair.

The Consortium is a 501c3 nonprofit.
